DENVER, Colo. (247MarketNews)— Vivakor (NASDAQ:VIVK) is adding engineering and project-development expertise to its proposed Texas airport hydrogen initiative, engaging energy infrastructure executive Bernard Brown as the company attempts to turn an ambitious waste-to-energy concept into a commercially viable operation.
The appointment is the latest in a series of moves surrounding the proposed project. On October 30, Vivakor disclosed a signed, nonbinding letter of intent from the operator of an unnamed major Texas international airport to negotiate a lease covering approximately 12.9 acres. The company's initial plan calls for hydrogen and compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling infrastructure, potentially supporting the airport operator's planned acquisition of 10 hydrogen-powered buses. A second phase could convert airport-generated organic waste into hydrogen.
Brown, currently president and chief technology officer of N2 Energy and formerly chief operating officer of Empire Diversified Energy, brings experience with renewable natural gas-to-hydrogen and waste-to-energy projects. Vivakor says his responsibilities will include technology evaluation, engineering planning, permitting and project execution.
The appointment follows the November 3 engagement of international business strategist Marcela Ronquillo Hinojosa, whose responsibilities include identifying financing opportunities and developing strategic partnerships. Taken together, the two appointments suggest Vivakor is assembling commercial and technical resources for the airport initiative.
