Private and Small-Group Wildlife Tours of Yellowstone and Grand Teton Now Available
Jackson, United States - May 21, 2026 / Teton Expeditions /
JACKSON HOLE, WY - Teton Expeditions is returning to Jackson Hole with a straightforward premise at the heart of its new chapter: families should not simply visit Grand Teton and Yellowstone. They should experience them together.
Re-founded by Jeff Tibbitts and Evan Toal, Teton Expeditions draws on more than 50 combined years of guiding, outfitting, and wildlife interpretation across the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The company operates in a new form today, but its origins trace back to the 1970s, when David Tibbitts helped establish a guiding philosophy grounded in knowledge, humility, patience, and deep respect for the land.
David Tibbitts was Jeff's father. He was also among the first to show both Jeff and Evan what guiding could look like when practiced with genuine purpose - not as a transaction or a checklist, but as an honest effort to help people understand and care for a place.
"We know what it looks like when this is done right," said co-founder Evan Toal. "We built this company around that vision."
Teton Expeditions offers half-day and full-day guided wildlife tours of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, with pickup and drop-off available throughout the Jackson Hole area. Tours are structured for small groups, families, multi-generational travelers, and guests seeking a more personal way to engage with the parks.
The company's guiding message, "See It Together," speaks directly to the kind of experience Teton Expeditions is designed to deliver. A child encountering a moose for the first time. Grandparents watching bison move across an open valley. Parents pausing long enough to understand the landscape around them. The aim is not only to show guests wildlife - it is to create a shared memory that stays with an entire family.
"The parks are for everyone," said co-founder Jeff Tibbitts. "But not everyone experiences them the same way. We want families, older travelers, and first-time visitors to feel comfortable, curious, and included from the moment they step into the vehicle."
That guest-first approach informs every element of the company's operation. Tours are intentionally paced. Questions are welcomed. Guides are chosen not only for their depth of knowledge, but for their character, patience, and ability to connect with guests across different generations. Many bring backgrounds in natural history, science education, outdoor leadership, and wildlife interpretation.
For families, that means the natural world becomes accessible to every age in the group. For older travelers, it means no rushed itineraries, no crowded vehicles, and no sense that a slower pace or an honest question is unwelcome. Every tour is structured around connection - to the land, to the wildlife, to the guide, and to one another.
The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem ranks among the most significant wild landscapes on the continent. Grizzly bears, wolves, bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, eagles, and numerous other species inhabit a region shaped by geology, conservation history, seasonal migration, and generations of stewardship. Teton Expeditions works to help guests understand that broader story.
"Every family that spends a day in the parks with one of our guides is a potential steward," Tibbitts said. "Every kid who sees a moose cross a river for the first time is a future advocate. That is what this is really about."
Teton Expeditions is currently accepting reservations for the 2026 season. Half-day and full-day wildlife tours are available for Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Private tours and group rates are offered for families, multi-generational travel parties, and special occasions.
